took hayden to the dentist for his first visit

I expected him to cry really bad and be really irritated at me. I was happily surprised... The first smile was before his visit while he was still in the waiting room. I have a picture that it resembles me of (this shark is not smiling, but when he is, it looks a lot like him. His "after" picture (carseat) was surprisingly pleasant; considering. Also, he worked at the office today. He did his usual... He finds the oddest place and he does a lie down impression (in my empty file cabinet).

Happy Birthday Austin!

Think Hayden looks just like you. I already know what he will look like as he gets older. He is gonna be a stud than!

Just a typical day at home

We try to take Hayden to as many different parks as we call. As if he cares, but we do anyhow. This one particular park happened to have a pool next to it. Buger! He wanted to swim, but we could not because they required swim trunks. It's ran by 16-18 year old kids at the door. Its okay... they are just doing their job. We went home and he loved his little blow up pool all the same. I didn't take any pictures of him in the pool but here it is before it was a water pool. Nic is in it on his first day to our house. NIC IS SO CUTE!
Hayden also slides down his slide (the same small red and blue one Nicki has) into the pool. We put cushions under the bottom of the pool. He loves it. He is a big scardy cat with other kiddy waterslides. It is so funny because he slides down this one head first, backwards... you name it... he tried it. It's so funny because he thinks he is so cool and he is the biggest daredevil. He doesn't know that we know this slide goes about 3 feet total slide length. He is so proud that he is brave. It's these little things that I love about him. I also have a picture of him when we stopped by to buy a $1 slurpee down the street before we got home to swim. He will just lie down anywhere. He is odd. Kinda like the picture of him at Amanda's graduation (lying in the middle of the pavement). That's just what he does! I just think he is a silly wabbit.

Amanda at West Point

I saw a great picture of Amanda on Anh Vinh's Facebook. It had a huge smile on her face with her softball team. I didn't know how to save that one to post it here. I do have few pics from her video that i snapped on my iPhone. It was weird but neat to see her all DIFFERENT. Glad they found the pics on youtube. Neato torpedo.

the pic here, you can barely see her (1:47 of video) ------------------------>
second person-second row-white shirt

the one here-------> she is wearing her suitcase... All I can think was that I wish I got her a suitcase with better fatter straps so it is more comfortable for her.

In memory of the brown coin with Abraham Lincoln

July 1st, 2002. - July 1st, 2010
Have fun up there with Anne and say hi to Tyson!

Mary Anne is such a sweet soul and person which is why Anne is so sweet. I could not leave this out of my blog.

Dear Thu, Lisa, Mel and David,

How precious you all are!!! My Granddog, Penny, had the best life. Please send me the picture of the big family at Canyon Lake with Penny. It was a tie between Penny and Thu on who had the biggest smile. I want to look again at that picture that Mel showed me.

So, today is Penny's birthday. I shed some tears with Greg when David called last night. Then I called Rachel and she too shed some. This morning I told Grace and she shed some. She said she had been hoping to see Penny. We have good memories of her. She would sit on one of my couch cushions to wait for Anne or David. I still have her sleeping cushion for the last 4 and a half years.

I had lunch with Rachel and I said how wonderful it was that Anne had been so close to your family. What a wonderful loving family you are! She had once thought we had too many children, but she let that idea go after meeting David, the 8th of 9. I immediately loved Mai before I met her. Mel, you are so special being the 9th child. I praise the Lord for you. For all of you Nguyens.

Thu, Penny was especially blessed to have you there in her last moments. Perhaps she is with Anne now. As God wills. And that she got to go camping the week before. How special is that!! Anyone who knows your family feels the love. I treasure our connection; though it is not often it is solid and golden.

We hope to share our joys and sorrows, for you are our loved ones.
Love,
Mary Anne Guthrie

a relaxing day at home with no obligations or commitments

decided to go to the local pool and let Hayden have some fun. He did. Michelle asked me if i wanted to blog on her site. I wanted to please her, so I stepped it up a notch and created my own. Think she will be pleased.
